How this calculator works

Odds tell you how often a bet has to win for you to break even over time. Divide 1 by the decimal odds. Win more often than that and the bet makes money in the long run. Win less often and it loses.

Break-even win % = 1 ÷ decimal odds
−110: 1 ÷ 1.9091 = 52.38%

Why do you need 52.4% to win at −110? You risk $110 to win $100, so each loss costs more than each win pays. About 52.4 wins in 100 bets is where they cancel out.

How do I use this with my own picks? If you think a bet wins more often than its break-even %, it has positive expected value. The EV calculator puts a dollar figure on it.

What is the other side with no vig? The price the opposite side would have if the book took no margin. Compare it with the real price to see how much vig you’re paying.
